JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAMS
|
The Bass River Tennis Club Junior Program has classes for every age and skill level. We follow the USTA guidelines for the Quickstart Program and the USTA 10 AND UNDER TENNIS initiatives. Our season begins in September and runs through May. Clinic sessions run on a 12 week schedule and are pro-rated for late admittance. Those who wish to participate in the program may need to attend a brief evaluation for proper placement.
GENERAL INFORMATION All children participating in the clinic or team programs are required to take a membership. The memberships are tailored to the age and skill level of our players. More information is detailed below. However, anyone is allowed to take private or small group lessons with Bass River teaching Pros. The fee for the lesson is the lesson cost, plus the standard guest fee. All other programs, except for USTA tournaments and events are member only. No make-up classes or credits will be given for classes missed unless the class was cancelled by Bass River due to inclement weather. Credits for injury will be given from the date the club is notified of the injury. A doctor's note may be requested.
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION Membership to the Bass River Tennis Club is required for all players in the junior program. Three different memberships are available for children under the age of 18. The membership you choose is based on age, skill level, and the clinics/teams you select. Children in our age 4 & 5 class will take our "Tots" membership. Just $25 for the year and the membership comes with a choice of a Bass River T-shirt or a tot's racquet. Our "Quickstart" membership is for all Level 1 and Level 2 clinic players. This membership includes a club T-shirt as well. Students enrolled in all other programs, including Level 3 & 4 clinics, Junior Travel Team or High Performance Program must take the full "Junior Membership". The full membership includes 2 free hours of court time each month and has advance court booking privileges*. To enroll your child for the first time, simply stop by Bass River and speak with a Member Service Representative. Additional questions can be directed to Larry Lebatique by email or call (978) 927-0102. *A junior member's free court time pays for his/her half of the court. A non-member playing on the court would pay the half court fee and a guest fee. For a non-member parent or sibling, Bass River will waive the guest fee.

NORTH SHORE JUNIOR TRAVEL TEAM The Bass River Tennis Club is proud to again offer a North Shore Junior Travel Team. Boys and Girls interested in competitive singles and doubles are welcome to participate. Both the boys and girls teams will carry 4 or 5 players in each category (12 & under, 14 & under 16 & under and 18 & under). Matches are played on Saturday afternoon and a weekly practice is held on Friday. Junior players are able to withdraw from Junior Clinic at the end of any session, but participation on the Junior Team is considered to be a season long commitment. We ask our players to be available as much as possible from mid-September through Mid-April (matches and practices are off during vacation and Holiday weeks). Any player knowing they cannot make a commitment to team should not take a spot away from a player who can.. Membership is a requirement for participation in the North Shore League Travel Team Program regardless of age. For A Junior North Shore & Developmental (J.V.) Teams Application pdf, click here.
